PR: Børseth breaks with Hedström

Category: News Posted 11.06.13 12:00 by

After four rounds and a disappointing start to his RallycrossRX season, former European champion Knut Ove Børseth breaks with team Hedströms Motorsport.

Børseth had originally signed for the whole season with Hedströms Motorsport, but realised that it is time for some major changes.

Challenging season
The season so far has been challenging, and technical difficulties have been following Hedströms Motorsport and Børseth for the first half of the RallycrossRX season. It has been very hard to fight in the absolute top of the SuperCar division, and Børseth is currently 8th in the championship, 42 points behind the leader, Russian Timur Timerzyanov. “Peter, Anders and the whole team have worked hard, but still we haven’t been able to get the results we wanted. I wish to thank them for their efforts and their cooperation,” says Børseth.

New team
Knut Ove Børseth and ‘Drive for Life Performance’ will continue the fight for the 2013 championship in a renewed effort. To the 5th round in Hell he is bringing his own Ford Focus and his own ‘Drive for Life’ team. “A decision like this comes with a few challenges, but we’re ready for them,” says Børseth. “The car has been ready for a long time and the team is ready for the task. Now all we have to do is to mobilize everything we’ve got to get some results on our home-track Lånkebanen.”

For some extra motivation, most of the youths in the ‘Drive for Life’ social entrepreneurship are coming to the track to see the founder of the organisation fight for championship points in the race. “If we all work as a team and focus on the things that have worked before, we will get results. We still have to be realistic about our chances and respect that the sport is getting more professional and that the level of the competition is high.”
