Frenchman Davy Jeanney joins Albatec Racing in an exclusive test session at the Circuit de Lohéac, while the team evaluates its options for 2014.

Albatec Racing was joined by FIA European Rallycross Championship title-contender Davy Jeanney in an exclusive test session at Lohéac yesterday (Monday). The 2010 French Rallycross Champion completed several runs aboard the #27 two litre, 16V Albatec Peugeot 208, proven as the pace-setter by Kris Meeke during last week’s French classic.

As the Dumfries-based team begins its preparations for its proposed entry into next year’s IMG-promoted FIA World Rallycross Championship, Jeanney was invited to drive the very latest new generation RallycrossRX SuperCar, while the team evaluates its options for 2014. Jeanney, who has three times finished on the RallycrossRX podium this season and can boast seven top-eight finishes, quickly settled into the 600bhp 4WD Peugeot 208, posting very respectable times in near perfect conditions.

Jeanney’s test at the Lohéac track, came just over a week after he secured third place in the last round of RallycrossRX, allowing him to easily translate his recent strong result into a solid test with the team, leaving both Jeanney and Team Principal Andy Scott delighted with his performance.

Andy Scott, Team Principal:

“Albatec Racing was very pleased to have Davy with us at the test in Lohéac, it was a pleasure to work with somebody as professional as him and we were particularly happy to be able to provide him with his first opportunity to drive a new generation RX SuperCar.

“He was incredibly competitive right from the start, and he thoroughly enjoyed his time in the car. While it’s too soon to talk about our driver line-up for 2014, we would welcome the opportunity to work with Davy in the future, as he is without question one of the most talented drivers on the grid this season.”

Davy Jeanney:

“It was a great pleasure to drive a new generation RallycrossRX SuperCar with such a professional team. It was particularly good to drive at Lohéac so soon after the race, where I still have a good feeling and the memory of the track is with me.

“I’d like to thank Albatec Racing very much for the opportunity to drive a recent car, complete with all the latest technology. The Peugeot 208 has I believe huge potential, it is very responsive, and is a very easy and comfortable car to drive.”
