The Autocross circuit at Maggiora in Italy will be converted to host Rallycross events in 2015 and Italian drivers are set to race in the 2014 EuroRX series.

From Italy we at ERC24 understood that during the Italian and Swiss Autocross Championship round, to be held over the Easter weekend at Maggiora, there will be a press conference in which the organising ‘Sport Club Maggiora’ is going to announce that its circuit will be converted in autumn for future Rallycross use. To be laid tarmac shall open the so far 100% loose surface Autocross venue for international Rallycross events, to start with in 2015.

Additionally the club from the Piedmont region of Northern Italy is going to present a three drivers team to participate in the Super1600 category of the 2014 FIA European Rallycross Championship series. The drivers are named as Silvano Ruga, Mirko Zanni and Davide Medici, and their cars are said to be Renault Clios of the ‘Tedak Racing di Reggio Emilia’ team. Dutchman Jos ‘Giovanni’ Kuijpers, who holds two passports and is a member of ‘Sport Club Maggiora’ for a couple of years already, is claimed to wave the Italian flag ‘il Tricolore’ in several rounds of the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship.
