BRC/DRX: Coox wins at home

Category: Miscellaneous, News Posted 19.09.14 15:30 by

Volkswagen Scirocco campaigner Jochen Coox wins the Belgian/German championships double event at Maasmechelen while Ron Snoeck makes it to runner-up and Ronny Scheveneels takes third place.

Round 6 of the Belgian Rallycross Championship at Maasmechelen did also count as Round 4 for the German DRX series. Jochen Coox made the event his by winning from Ron Snoeck and Ronny Scheveneels, the latter once again racing the Škoda of Marcel Ottink. Joint favourite Koen Pauwels retired early and was eventually classified sixth. Dutchman Snoeck is still leading the SuperCar championship standings of his neighbouring country. Davy Van Den Branden won in Super1600s and, thereby, extended his lead in the series. Bart Stouten and Dennis Remans (had to do two Joker Laps for a jump start in the Final) joined DVDB on the podium after finishing second and third respectively. In the SuperNational class for the cars with bigger engines it was Luc Maris who won from Kristof Bex and Steve Volders, while victory of the SN category for smaller engines was claimed by Martijn Vanhove from Jeff Mertens and Johan Kwinten.
