WRX: New year for EKSRX

Category: Miscellaneous, News Posted 09.01.15 15:00 by

EKSRX team principal Mattias Ekström is looking forward to the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship and expecting a “new year, with new goose bumps”.

Best wishes for the New Year. A year goes by so fast. It’s almost hard to believe what we had accomplished in just 12 months. That’s EKS. What just a few thought would be possible was delivered – and a bit more. You know me by now; there is no brake, just full throttle. I want to go forward, but I can’t do it alone. I have a fantastic bunch behind me, and we share the same attitude – winning. This is precisely the mind-set that will give us victories both on and off the track.

We will deliver joy. To everyone. To make people so happy that they get goose bumps is our vision; it’s what makes us go to work every day. Sure, it’s not easy to measure, but there are some good examples of what we mean: In late September I spent a day on the Rallycross track in Buxtehude, along with Walter Röhrl. It was a bit of a dream come true to show him our Audi S1 EKS RX quattro. Along with us, we also had the legendary Audi Sport quattro, a car that forever changed Audi’s image. Of this fantastic meeting we made a movie that was released on Christmas Day. So far, it’s been viewed more than 380,000 times on Facebook and YouTube. If you have not seen it watch it here:

The 2.6 million views (Facebook and YouTube) for the #quattrochallenges film we made in Rostock is even more amazing. A small RC car against our S1. Have you seen it? See it again here:

If we can continue to engage and please people in the same way, we will also be winners.

Soon we will be able to tell you about 2015. Our target is (as you all know by now) to be the best. How we’ll achieve this, you will know in a few weeks. Thanks to everyone who have supported and believed in EKS and me. Without you it would not have been possible.

Thanks

Mattias
