GRC: Isachsen set for more

Category: GRC, News Posted 11.02.15 11:11 by

Triple European Rallycross Champion Sverre Isachsen has extended his cooperation with Subaru Rally Team USA and is looking forward to his fourth full GRC season.

A couple of days ago the Global RallyCross series Subaru squad has announced its 2015 plans. The team has confirmed that it will continue its GRC programme with Norwegian Sverre ‘The Viking Warrior’ Isachsen and American Charles Michael ‘Bucky’ Lasek as its regular drivers for the 12 rounds schedule, while American action sports icon Travis Pastrana is set to join them for select events, such as the Summer X Games.

“I’m so happy right now. Subaru Rally Team USA is a great team, and last year we took our first victory [in Round 9 at Snoqualmie near Seattle, Washington]. This year I’m going for more wins,” said Isachsen to the press. The hat-trick ERX winner [in 2009, 2010 and 2011] has signed his new contract with the Americans at his own museum in Norway before joining Subaru USA at the Philadelphia Auto Show. Sverre continued: “I can’t wait for the season to start. This winter I have been busy building a family cabin in the Norwegian mountains, but now I desperately want to race again!”

“It was an easy decision for us to keep them on the team,” explained Rob Weir, Subaru Motorsports Marketing Manager. “Bucky and Sverre put Subaru on the podium five times last season and continue to play a key role in the development of our Rallycross programme. Both drivers share tremendous pride for the Subaru brand and the success of Subaru Rally Team USA.”
