WRX: Seat in Seat for Nitišs

Category: News, WRX Posted 01.03.16 10:50 by

On his way to Münnich: Nitišs, the driver from Jēkabpils in Latvia and former Super1600 2013 FIA European Rallycross Champion has left Olsbergs MSE, and is set to drive for ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport in a Seat Ibiza Supercar in 2016.

Following nearly a week of constant speculation, mostly fueled by Reinis Nitišs’ social media team, it has this morning been confirmed by the press team that the Latvian will drive an all new Seat Ibiza for the ALL-INKL.COM Münnich Motorsport team in 2016.

Nitišs will compete alongside René Münnich in all the championship rounds in a newly built Seat Ibiza RX Supercar.

Having spent two seasons with Ford Olsbergs MSE, during which he managed to finish on the podium seven times, including one victory, Reinis Nitišs received an offer to join the All-Inkl.com Racing team, which has used Audi S3 RX cars in Rallycross for the past two years.

“The FIA World Rallycross Championship is currently developing at a very fast pace, and we began discussions with multiple teams late last year, with All-Inkl.com Racing coming out on top with their action plan and potential. All-Inkl.com Racing engineers and specialists have years of experience in top level racing series – GT1, WTCC and Rallycross. In the last two years, racing Audi S3 RX cars, the team has got some invaluable knowledge, and I believe that we will be competitive in the championship with the new Seat Supercars!” says Reinis Nitišs.

“I have known Reinis for some time now, we were actually competing against each other in the S1600 class a few years ago. He is Young Gun, quick and very good. We have been actively working on preparing the new car for the last couple of months and I hope that with it, Reinis will be able to fight not only for podiums, but outright victories as well!” team owner René Münnich is excited to have Reinis join his team.

“I am honoured that my success in the world championship is appreciated by local companies, such as Lattelecom, who will provide live TV broadcasts from all the championship rounds starting from this season. This year will be especially important in my career, as it will be the first one with a World Championship event taking place here in Latvia.
