Competitors in Hell have driven their second session of practice at the Lånkebanen as part of the two free practice sessions last night and this morning.

The fifth round of the 2016 World Rallycross Championship and the second round of the 2016 European Rallycross Championship is underway in the town of Hell near Trondheim in Norway.

Timur Timerzyanov has produced the fastest practice lap times in both free practice sessions: one held last night and the other this morning. Last year’s winner Timmy Hansen was a close second to the Russian this morning, with local favourite Andreas Bakkerud finishing third fastest.

In the Euro RX, it was Mettet winner Kevin Hansen who drove the fastest lap in Lånke this morning. The Peugeot-Hansen Academy driver was marginally faster than the Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss. Swede Fredrik Salsten finished the session third fastest.

Gehrman and Bryntesson lead after Q1

TouringCar and RX Lites Cup drivers completed their first qualifying session last night.

In the TouringCars Phillip Gehrman won the first round. The Swedish driver gained the fastest race time, beating two Norwegian drivers to the fastest time: Fredrik Magnuussen and Per-Magne Royras.

In the RX Lites Cup – it was much the same, with the young Norwegian Thomas Bryntesson setting the early pace. Bryntesson was quicker than fastest competitors Cyril Raymond and Joachim Hvaal.

TC & RX Lites Q2 is underway now, with WRX and ERX Supercar Q1 to follow…
