Hansen Motorport’s magical Rallycross weekend with victories of Timur Timerzyanov and Kevin Hansen in Höljes and Sébastien Loeb in LA.

 

The Hansen team experienced an unforgettable and magical Rallycross weekend. ERC leader Timur Timerzyanov won the spectacular SuperCars A final in the Swedish round of the European Rallycross Championship in his Citroën DS3. Kevin Hansen, 14 years, took his first victory in the all-new Junior Rallycross category, the JRX Cup. And as a perfect end to a magical weekend World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb and Citroën Racing brought home the gold medal of the X Games 18 Rallycross competition by taking a superior win in the final in a Citroën DS3 ‘XL’.

“What a weekend!”, team manager Kenneth Hansen cheers over the phone from Los Angeles. “The team faced the biggest challenge ever with the European Rallycross Championship and the new JRX Cup series in Sweden and X Games under the wings of Citroën Racing in the USA and we won. I would like to say we are today the best Rallycross team in the world!

The ERC in Höljes ended with a dramatic final in SuperCars. Swede Stig-Olov “Stecka” Walfridsson had pole position and was favourite for the win. Making a brilliant start Timerzyanov mananged to take the lead into the first corner closely followed by Walfridson. After a clash between the combatants “Stecka” lost several places and Timur managed to continue to the finish line where the fire works greeted him as the winner of the A final.

Hansen team driver Alexander Hvaal made a strong recovery in the A final and got the third place at the end of the day. Hvaal missed the start and was only eighth through the first corner. Slowly he faught his way back up the field. Timur extended his ERC lead and Alexander climbed to second place overall.

Kevin Hansen was overwhelmed by happiness over his first place in the all-new youth category JRX. Team colleague Norwegian girl Ada Marie Hvaal was second.

Eric Färén made his best race so far in the Super1600s class and finished fourth in the A final in his Citroën C2. Eric is in his first season of Rallycross and in Höljes he was the best Swede.

While a part of the Hansen team was makig success in the European Rallycross Championship in Sweden another part of the team, with the team manager Kenneth Hansen himself, in Los Angeles at X Games 18 and doing the same. Under the wings of Citroën Racing they took together with Sébastien Loeb in the Citroën DS3 ‘XL’, a superior victory and the gold medal in the prestigeous X Games Rallycross shoot-out.
