Grönholm back to GRC?

Category: GRC, News, Shortcuts Posted 08.08.12 21:15 by

Marcus Grönholm stated during the Neste Oil Rally Finland that he is going to take a decision about his further commitment to the GRC series in late August.

Last weekend double World Rally Champion Marcus Grönholm attended the Neste Oil Rally Finland as a guest and spectator. During his visit the Finn announced that he is going to decide on his further career as a Rallycross driver in late August. “Magic Marcus” is currently taking a brake from the Global RallyCross Championship in the US, after having had a bad crash during a practice run for the X Games 18 in Los Angeles. For the end of this month Grönholm awaits a final medical examination.

“When I know the result of the examination I’ll take a decision about my engagement in the GRC series. I know that I’m still fast and able to win races and I still have a chance to claim that American title. Therefore it will be hard to decide upon what to do. I need to hear what the doctors have to tell me before I can come to a decision about my future,” said the member of the Best Buy/OMSE team to representatives of the press. Grönholm is currently 4th of the GRC point standings, series leader Tanner Foust has an advantage of 19 points to his make colleague. There are two more GRC rounds scheduled, the September 29 event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and the to be announced Finale, possibly also in Las Vegas.
