2012 European Rallycross TC Champion Anton Marklund has driven his new 550+bhp VW Polo Mk5 SuperCar to victory in the ‘Race of Austrian Champions’.

“This was the first victory with our new VW Polo SuperCar,” was stated today by the happy Marklund Motorsport team after Swedish youngster Anton Marklund had won the ‘Race of Austrian Champions’ at the PS Racing Center in Greinbach. The reigning TouringCars champion was the quickest man all day and was improving his times from the first run to the final. His efforts resulted in the fastest time ever for this event when he was racing against last year’s winner Austrian Peter Ramler and his Seat Leon Mk1 in the final. After the race the team pointed out: “Anton is very pleased with the car and learning all the time. Now he is looking forward to next weekend, when he will compete in a similar event at Sosnová in the Czech Republic.”
