RX: MDK pulls the plug

Category: ERC, News, Shortcuts Posted 30.06.13 10:46 by

After only two ERC rounds with the all-new Albatec Peugeot 208 Michaël De Keersmaecker stops his unlucky 2013 programme.

Belgian Michaël De Keersmaecker announced last night that he has taken the decision to stop his 2013 RallycrossRX programme with immediate effect. The double ERC winner of 2007 (D1A) and 2008 (RX Cup) had a very bad crash during Round 3 of the new series at Nyirád in Hungary. “I’ve already missed the season opener in England, due to an accident in the kick-off round of the Belgian Rallycross Championship in March. As I was not able to start the European championship before Portugal and after Hungary missed out the quickly following rounds of Finland and Norway it does not make any sense for me to continue. With just two of the five events done I’ll get nowhere this year, and that is certainly not my intention. Therefore I will spare my money and concentrate on 2014 instead. I have to thank Andy Scott and Albatec Racing who did a marvellous job for me,” stated the unlucky Peugeot 208 SuperCar driver, who, according to hearsay from Belgium, is working on a new car project for 2014.
