Timerzyanov continues his lead at the top of the SuperCars – going fastest in FP1, FP2 and the official timed practice. Foust just a little bit slower. Bakkerud beats Linnemann in S1600s, Enerberg holds top spot in TCs.

Hansen Motorsport driver Timur Timerzyanov remains the fastest SuperCar driver after three practice sessions in Hell. American Tanner Foust classifies just 0.037 fractions of a second slower than the Russian who seems to be going strong in his all new DS3. Foust went third fastest in the second free practice beaten by second fastest Mats Lysen. However, in the official timed practice Lysen (last year’s event winner) was slower than Foust and classified as third fastest. Alexander Hvaal and Liam Doran were fourth and fifth fastest, the latter’s car seeming to have recovered from earlier teething problems. Old guard Jean-Luc Pailler pushed up the rankings this afternoon going sixth fastest. “It was 20 years ago when I first drove in Norway – and things are still going good in this country. The car is very nice at the moment and I love coming to these events. I will continue in the championship next year with my two sons who are driving in France this year,” replied the Frenchman.

‘Mr Baby Blue’ was this time faster than rival Ulrik Linnemann, but his narrow lead over the Dane was not enough to prove a conclusive dominance. René Münnich’s third placed ranking in the OTP will bring some positivity to the ‘all-inkl.com’ team. Second driver Mandie August was a non-starter in the session – her car still being worked on.

The returning champion continued to cement his position in the TouringCars category. Lars Øivind Enerberg was again faster than Scandinavian rival Anton Marklund. Tom Daniel Tånevik was third fastest, Hungarian event winner Derek Tohill from Ireland fourth.

JRX performances have been scarce. The Cup was forced to showcase it’s debut laps in one working car – driven by Kevin Hansen and Joni Wiman. Despite the cup’s setbacks, visitor Henning Solberg (accompanied by Rallycross legend and quadruple Euro champ Evind Opland) was keen to praise the Junior cup. “It is a great idea, and I hope they can get the cars going this weekend, it is great opportunity to get juniors into driving and motorsport,” said the older of the Solberg brothers.

Round 5’s first qualification heat gets underway at 16.00h.
