The two Free Practice runs have been completed at the Tykkimäen Moottorirata near Kouvola and the competitors are set for Timed Practice now.
The track was wet during the first Free Practice, but drying up more and more. However, another rain is expected for later today. Norwegian Renault campaigner Mats Lysen set the fastest time, beating his Swedish make-colleague Stig-Olov Walfridsson with a similar Clio Mk3 to second place. Frenchman Davy Jeanney, American Tanner Foust, Russian Timur Timerzyanov and Briton Andy Scott were the following drivers of the fastest half-a-dozen SuperCar competitors here in Kouvola. Swedish circuit racer Timmy Hansen, who has entered his first ever ERC round with the Hansen Motorsport Citroën DS3 driven by Sébastien Loeb to win his X Games 18 gold medal, is trying to get used to the 545bhp SuperCar and scored a remarkable 9th fastest time. In the Super1600s category Russian Ildar Rakhmatullin was the quickest, while the TouringCars class saw Irishman Derek Tohill finishing on top of the time keepers’ list.
In the second Free Practice it was almost-European champion Timur Timerzyanov who run away with the fastest time, Tanner Foust made it to second place. Hansen junior Timmy impressed a lot of people by making it to third place, Briton Liam Doran claimed the fourth fastest time here. Fifth and sixth place went to Swede Peter Hedström and Mats Lysen. Among the Super1600 drivers it was Dane Ulrik Linnemann who had the saying, Robin Larsson ensured himself the first place of the TouringCars field.
