1980 Danish National Rallycross Champion Carl-Erik Kristensen has passed away last Friday.
We at ERC24 are very sad to announce that the 1980 Danish National Rallycross Champion Carl-Erik Kristensen, father of his two racing sons Jacob and Tom Kristensen (the 8-times ‘24h of Le Mans’ winner), has passed away on Friday March 8. Kristensen was a well known all-round racer in his native Danmark, also a keen Rallycrosser of the early days of our motorsport in his home country. In 1980 the Burton Performance Centre representative made good use of his Opel Ascona B to claim the National Danish Rallycross Championship title from his compatriots Bent Sørensen (Porsche 911) and Aage Mathiassen (NSU TT 1300). Godspeed “Gammel K”, and Rest In Peace!
