Images of Tanner Foust’s all-new Ford Fiesta Mk7 ST have been seen some days prior to its official launch, however, but it was only yesterday that the mint Rallycross SuperCar with new livery was presented worldwide to “Joe Public”.
Last weekend the American debuted his 560+bhp Rockstar Monster during a sneak preview at the Bristol Motor Speedway, where the Global RallyCross Championship will see one of its 2013 rounds on July 20. “Our focus for 2013 is pure Rallycross, with Global X Games, the Global RallyCross Championship and the FIA European Rallycross Championship on the calendar”, said Foust.
The Olsbergs MSE driver will compete in an expanded X Games schedule that adds three international stops to the traditional summer event in Los Angeles. The first Rallycross competition in the marquee, invitation-only action sport contest takes place on April 21 in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, followed by rounds in Barcelona, Spain, in May and Munich, Germany, in June. Global X Games Rallycross returns to Los Angeles for the first week in August.
However, Foust’s 2013 competition season opener is less than two weeks away. The 39-year-old travels to the Lydden Hill Race Circuit in England’s county Kent for the first round of this year’s FIA European Rallycross Championship. The cradle of the Rallycross sport hosts the ‘RallycrossRX’ opener on March 31 and April 1. After Lydden Foust is expected to take part in some more selected ERX rounds. As it is known that the Colorado-born and California-based American loves to race in Europe we at ERC24 expect to see him in at least half-a-dozen European events.
