FRC: Round-up & Video

Category: Miscellaneous, News Posted 18.10.13 17:28 by

2013 SuperCar champion Jérôme Grosset-Janin won the seventh out of nine French Rallycross Championship rounds at Dreux, while in Super1600s Rallycross lady Adeline Sangnier claimed her second overall victory after the 2012 Lohéac round.

The Circuit de l’Ouest Parisien at Dreux was the venue for the Finale of the French Rallycross Championship series. Ten rounds had originally been on the 2013 schedule, but after the cancellation of Round 3 at Faleyras the title chase was decided over nine events. In SuperCars Jérôme Grosset-Janin had already claimed the title some weeks ago, but at the hometrack of his Chanoine Compétition team the Renault Clio Mk3 campaigner was in top form again to bag his seventh victory of the season.

Grosset-Janin was able to win the A final from the pole position, but for veteran Rallycrosser Hervé “Knapick” Lemonnier the last race of the weekend ended in retirement when his Citroën DS3 gave up too early. Advantage of the bad luck for “Knapick” went to 2006 Division 1 champion Alexandre Theuil, who debuted his new Citroën DS3 SuperCar at the Dreux round to take home a runner-up result from its maiden FRC event. Fabien Pailler made it from the back of the A final starting grid to third position and another place on the rostrum.

Rallycross lady Adeline Sangnier had won her first ever Super1600s A final in 2012 at Lohéac, here at Dreux she drove her Citroën C2 to the second big success. Second place was taken by David Olivier and his Renault Twingo Mk2, while the new S1600 champion Jean-Baptiste Dubourg drove his Renault Clio Mk3 to third place. Christophe Saunois won the Division 3 main final to underline his title win. In Division 4 a certain Ludovic Surin impressed all by winning his first ever Rallycross event outright. And in the last race of the inaugural Renault Twingo R1 Cup series Aurélien Crochard claimed victory from 2012 JRX driver Firmin Cadeddu, while series winner Cyril Raymond had to finish his successful season with a poor eighth place.
