Bråten: ERX commitment

Category: ERC, News Posted 31.01.14 12:57 by

Norwegian Anders Bråten has announced to make a full nine ERX rounds attempt on the 2014 European TouringCar title.

Anders Nymoen Bråten, the 21 years old Norwegian ERC newcomer of last season, has released the news to participate in all nine FIA European Rallycross Championship rounds of this year. The former SuperNational driver raced in just five of the nine 2013 ERC rounds to finish 7th overall of the TouringCar standings, but has set himself a higher target for 2014. Seen that the strongest of his last years competitors have already announced to leave the RWD class an attempt on the European title looks quite promising for the Ford Fiesta Mk7 campaigner.

The car is currently undergoing a full overhaul to be ready and competitive in due time for the EuroRX kick-off at Montalegre in Portugal, to be followed by eight more rounds, including the European TC Finale at the debuting venue Autodromo di Franciacorta near Brescia in Italy. Considering that the 2014 ERX for the SuperCar drivers is scheduled over just five events in Europe, the FIA series for both, the Super1600 and TouringCar regulars is as costly and time consuming as it has been in the past.
