German racer and teamchef René Münnich has changed his 2014 programme at the eleventh hour, now planning to race in both, WTCC as well as WorldRX.
ERC24 has learned from Münnich Motorsport that the German team has committed to the 2014 World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). René Münnich has just bought two new Chevrolet Cruze TC1 cars, one will be driven by himself, the other one by ex-F1 driver Gianni Morbidelli from Italy. As three (Hungary, Austria and China) of the twelve WTCC rounds are clashing with three of the twelve World Rallycross events Münnich is going to miss the WRX rounds of Montalegre, Lydden Hill and Istanbul Park. The team from Friedersdorf in Saxony is now looking forward to start its FIA World Rallycross Championship campaign not before Hell in Norway. A second Audi S3 SuperCar is almost ready to replace the 2013 test car that has been used for development purposes so far. The all-new S3 for racing is currently awaiting its 560+bhp Julian Godfrey engine, but as the stipulated control fuel for the inaugural WRX series is not yet available the British motor wizard had to delay its mapping and delivery.
