WRX: Coox back to Lydden

Category: ERC, News Posted 20.04.14 19:51 by

Belgian Rallycross Champion 2008 and 2009 Jochen Coox has placed his entry for Round 2 of the WorldRX series at Lydden Hill in Great Britain.

Belgian Jochen Coox is going to race in the all-new FIA World Rallycross Championship series with his VW Scirocco Mk3 SuperCar. “The target is both, simple and difficult at the same time. We want to measure forces with the top WorldRX drivers, as well as trying to reach a place in the finals. But with more than thirty of the best SuperCars in the world of Rallycross I know for sure, it’s going to be a hell of a job,” claims the Belgian Volkswagen campaigner.

Coox says that he is looking forward to compete in this WorldRX event: “I think the championship promoter IMG has lifted Rallycross to a much higher level. For us as a small team with limited budget the five rounds of the European version, that runs alongside WorldRX, is a golden formula. During the WorldRX event at Lydden Hill we will see if we are on par with EuroRX opponents like Swede Lukas Walfridsson, the Norwegians Tommy Rustad and Tord Linnerud and, not to forget, Frenchman Jérôme Grosset-Janin. If everything goes well and according to our plans we’re going to do some more WorldRX rounds this year.”
