RallyX: Leise going for Lites

Category: Miscellaneous, News Posted 22.04.14 12:45 by

Swedish 22 years old Rallycross talent Linus Leise is set to drive a SuperCar Lites vehicle in his native RallyX series.

Linus Leise from Malmö steps up from the National 2400 class to enter the all-new SuperCar Lites series of the Swedish Rallycross Championship that makes part of the prestigious STCC series from this year on. The young man from Sweden’s most southern province of Skåne is going to drive for the Finnish Set Promotion team and will be sponsored by ‘Vianor – Member of Nokian Tyres’.

“After good results in the national Swedish championship this is the biggest step in my career so far,” says a very happy Linus Leise. “Racing one of this four-wheel driven SuperCar Lites with normally aspirated 320bhp engines is a challenge I have been chasing for a long time. Things are looking good now. The car is very fast, the long list of Lites competitors in Sweden and Europe is showing a high interest of strong drivers, and I will have backing from a great team [Set Promotion] and my main sponsor Vianor.”

“Set Promotion is a well-known force in Rallycross and has brought several talents to the very top in Europe. Linus is ready to become the next one. I saw him competing with his BMW in the national 2400 class at Tomelilla last year – and straight away enjoyed his style of driving. We offered him a test with us, and both parties were happy with its results,” claims Set Promotion team manager Marcus Nilsson. “I expect Linus to be a strong contender, already in the first year. He has clear targets and works hard; therefore I think he could be out there to fight in the top.”
