The Swedish Salsten Racing team has announced that its driver Fredrik Salsten commits to a full EuroRX programme for Norway.
ERC24 informed its readers on April 10 that the in Sweden born and based Fredrik Salsten has revealed his plans to race a brand-new Citroën DS3 TouringCar in all nine rounds of the FIA European Rallycross Championship. However, meanwhile things have changed a bit. Today Salsten Racing confirmed that the plan of the 25-year-old is to compete in all 2014 ERX events, but is going to drive for Norway.
Fredrik Salsten: “I was born and have grown up in Sweden, but have strong bonds to the country of Norway, which passport I carry. As Norway is celebrating its 200 years of independence in 2014 I am very happy to represent Norway in Europe.” Therefore, Salsten has joined the Norwegian club NMK Trogstad, whose chairman Ola Frøshaug is a Rallycross driver himself and the reigning champion of the ‘NEZ Open’ category in the FIA North European Zone (NEZ) Rallycross Championship. Ola Frøshaug: “Fredrik has great skills as a driver, which I was able to eye-witness last year when he almost won the NEZ cup from me. I’m proud that he will drive for our club in the EuroRX series and I wish him all the best of Norwegian luck.”
