Category: ERX, News Posted 12.05.16 10:50 by

The Swedish European Rallycross driver Peter Hedström sets his long term sights on a full WRX campaign, as he gets ready for ERX round one.

Peter Hedström has launched a three year plan for the World Rallycross Championship. This season using a ‘Liqui Moly’ backed OMSE Ford Fiesta Supercar, the team aim for a top position by the end of the 2016 ERX season.

The team have been testing at Höljes, and fine tuning the OMSE Ford Fiesta Supercar that will enter the opening round of this year’s European Rallycross Championship.

The car feels really fast already, and I’m really excited to go into battle again,” says Hedström.

The 2016 OMSE Fiesta was run during a couple of ERX events at the and of 2015, and the team are hopeful that those extra outings will hold them in good stead this weekend.

To be honest, my start of the last two seasons was not so good, two years ago we struggled with electronics and last year more ended with a roll in Belgium,” says Peter.

I’m really glad I got to know the Ford in full race speed at events already last year. My goal for this season will be to finish up in the top spots of the European Championship, like we ended last season,” says Peter Hedström.

This season the team aims for a full ERX calendar, added with some selected appearances in WRX and Swedish Championship.

My long term goal for the three year schedule,  is to make a full WRX season in 2018,” announces Peter.

The first round of the 2016 FIA European Rallycross Championship gets underway in Mettet, Belgium this weekend.
