Round 4 in Hungary

Category: ERC, June, News, Shortcuts Posted 01.06.12 21:22 by

Hungry for Hungary, the Nyirádi Motorsport Centrum near Tapolca gets set for round four of the European Rallycross Championship.

ERC round four is upon us. We arrived this evening (after a rather hairy ride to the circuit behind Norwegian SuperCar driver Guttorm Lindefjell) to the Nyirádi Motorsport Centrum near Tapolca in Hungary, not too far away from Lake Balaton. Set in the desolate hills near the village of Nyirád, the circuit has a Mediterranean ‘feel’ to it, located directly on top of what was an old Bauxit quarry. Conditions are at present dry and warm, although light rain is predicted to hit the circuit at some point during the weekend. Teams and drivers are all hard at work, mechanics preparing cars, drivers preparing themselves. The paddock is buzzing and overlooks the 1220 Metres long track with its for Bauxit typical red soil.

There is no unexpected news at this moment in time, and all SuperCar, Super1600 and TouringCar drivers will be set for the first four laps of free practice commencing at 10.30 tomorrow morning. According to the information we have Austrian Peter Ramler (SuperCars), Norwegian Tom Daniel Tånevik, Swede Lars Rosendahl and Hungarian György Fodor (all three in TouringCars) have withdrawn from the entry list.
