Daniel Holten and Frode Holte are both satisfied with yesterday’s Volvo C30 SuperCar test at the Lånkebanen in Hell.
There was bright sunshine and fine conditions at the Lånkebanen yesterday when the organisers of the Norwegian round counting for the FIA European Championship for Rallycross Drivers invited drivers to a press conference and some free training for ERC participants. Daniel Holten was at the venue to do his first laps with Frode Holte’s Volvo C30. “I’m probably more nervous than ever before,” said young Holten, before he got into the car and drove his first laps with the highly potent SuperCar.
“The car is very comfortable to drive, but the action is fast and I have enough to do by shifting the gears in time, perhaps the biggest difference compared to what I have driven before,” claimed the 20-year-old. After five practice laps it was all over. Frode Holte was satisfied: “The plan was that we would do 20 laps today, but what we have done was already quite good. I think this engagement could become very exciting.” Engine builder Alf Eng arrived also at Lånke to attend the testing: “The engine came straight from an overhaul, but all went well today and everything worked as it should.”
