GRC round of Texas is on

Category: GRC, June, News Posted 08.06.12 19:10 by

The Global RallyCross Championship round at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth near Dallas has started with the Timed Practice today and saw double WRC winner Marcus Grönholm setting FTD.

Today the second GRC round has been opened with the Official Timed Practice [aka ‘Seeding’ in the US] at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas. After Travis Pastrana crashed his 550+bhp Dodge Dart SuperCar while testing the ramps for the controversial Gap Jump it was decided to run the Timed Practice without using the ramps. See the results of the practice on our picture at the right.

The event will continue tomorrow at 23.30h CET with the four qualifying runs (Heat 1A, 1B, 1C and 1D of 4 laps each), while the two so-called ‘Last Chance Qualifiers’ (A and B of 3 laps each) as well as the Final (6 laps) are due to follow immediately, ahead of the IndyCar Firestone 550 race.
