Qualifying at NHMS

Category: GRC, July, News Posted 14.07.12 14:01 by

All-American top 3: Tanner Foust set the fastest qualification time while Ken Block crashed off the track after driving the second fastest time and Travis Pastrana made it to third place.

For the European Rallycross fans it was late last night when Round 4 of the Global RallyCross Championship at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon saw the so-called ‘Seedings’, the qualifying runs for the main event to be held the coming night.

The NHMS track has a Gap Jump, a Table Top Jump, an about 30m long dirt section and a “Car Wash” [made like a big shower] on offer. Acording to our crew member Qba all drivers are happy with the set up Rallycross track at Loudon and also quite satisfied with the controversial Gap Jump as it is now.

While Tanner Foust clocked the fastest time [see picture of time keepers list] that man Ken Block got some grind into his rims making the brakes of the former M-Sport WRC Ford Fiesta fail to do their job. As a result Ken crashed over a block and a fence and fell off the track. Questioned by our man at the venue the “Hoonigan in Chief” stated that he himself remained unhurt and that the almost 600bhp strong Mk7 Fiesta had no major damage, but will be ready in due time for the action to come.
