Brazilian ‘Xtreme Rally Car’ producer set to join 2013 GRC with two almost 600bhp strong cars based on Peugeot 207.
According to the website rallynoticias.com two Brazilian four-wheel driven “SuperCars” are currently in the making to compete in next year’s Global RallyCross Championship (GRC). As one of the rounds of the GRC series will be held during the Global X Games at a track in Foz de Iguazú in Brazil the producer of the so-called ‘Xtreme Rally Car’ (XRC) is keen to take part in the expanding American series. Three of the 2013 GRC events should make part of the X Games on April 18 in Brazil, between May 9 and 12 in Barcelona (Spain) and on August 1 in Los Angeles (USA).
“It’s more than a chance for us,” the director of the project Armando Miranda has been quoted. “We want to boost rallying in Brazil and show that we can deliver the necessary technology. The cars will have almost 600bhp, and for the construction we use about 80 percent of recycled materials.” It is claimed that one of the cars is ready yet and has recently been tested by Edu Marques, a Brazilian racing driver and stuntman who lives in the USA.
