TT is 2012 Euro Champ

After qualifying for the Finnish A final Timur Timerzyanov had done enough to claim the 2012 ERC title, but the Russian also won the penultimate round.

The 2012 FIA European Championship for Rallycross Drivers in SuperCars was actually already decided before Kouvola. There was just a tiny chance left for American Tanner Foust, if Timur Timerzyanov would have scored no points at all in Finland. So bringing his Hansen Motorsport Citroën DS3 into either the B or the A final was already enough for the Tatarstan-Russian to clean the table. However, the man from Kazan produced also a marvellous drive in the last race of the Finnish weekend to claim another victory ahead of Briton Liam Doran and Swede Peter Hedström. Norwegian Mats Lysen, Swede Timmy Hansen and American Tanner Foust grabbed the places four, five and six at Tykkimäki, while Belgian Michaël De Keersmaecker (7th) and Frenchman Davy Jeanney (8th) were forced into early A final retirements.

In the Super1600s category a fifth place (after a black flag for leaving the track with all four wheels in the last corner before the finish) was enough for Norwegian Andreas Bakkerud to ensure himself his second consecutive ERC title. His two Finnish teammates Jussi-Petteri Leppihalme and Teemu Suninen bagged the first and the second place here. And in the TouringCars class the second place behind his compatriot Robin Larsson ensured Swede Anton Marklund his first European title.
