First Heat taken by Jeanney

Category: ERC, News Posted 29.09.12 18:38 by

Saturday’s racing at the Estering near Hamburg is over, the best time in SuperCars was claimed by Frenchman Davy Jeanney.

The first Qualifying Heats were started at 16.00h, but did not finish before 17.40h, due to some delays produced by incidents during the different races. Kevin Hansen set the fastest time in the JRX Cup, beating Magda Andersson and Marat Knyazev to the places two and three. 2011 TouringCars Euro Champ Lars Øivind Enerberg proved for yet another time his driving skills by setting the fastest time ahead of Robin Larsson and Ole Håbjørg. The new champion Anton Marklund made it to fourth place, followed up by David Nordgård and Roman Častoral. Derek Tohill dropped down to 16th place after he spun his Ford Fiesta.

The Set Promotion team members Teemu Suninen, Andreas Bakkerud and Joni Wiman drove their Renault’s to the first three places in the Super1600s class, René Münnich, Eric Färén and Jussi-Petteri Leppihalme completing the first half-a-dozen. In one of the races no less than four drivers got lost after battling it out for quite a distance, among them Russian Timur Shigaboutdinov and Dane Ulrik Linnemann, all of them retired already in the first lap.

Frenchman Davy Jeanney did a marvellous job in the SuperCars class, the Frenchman bagging the fastest time from Swede Peter Hedström and Belgian Michaël De Keersmaecker. Liam Doran crashed his Citroën against a tyre barrier in the first corner, but as his DS3 was not heavily damaged still made it to the fourth fastest time. Fifth place was scored by ERC returnee Alexander Hvaal, GRC series leaver Andy Scott made it to sixth place. Timur Timerzyanov failed to pass through the Joker Lap detour propperly, subsequently limping with a puncture towards the chequered flag to finish on tenth place.
