The next Norwegian Rallycross youngster is ready for European action and racing in his first international event at Lydden.
Anders Nymoen Bråten is a 20 year old Norwegian who has set is focus on becoming one of the leading Rallycross drivers in Europe. “I will do all I can to show how much I enjoy this sport”, claims the newcomer, who will do his first ever European round over the coming Easter weekend at Lydden Hill. “I have high goals for the upcoming season and look excited forward to drive the RallycrossRX opener in England. We don’t know yet what there will be for the rest of this year and need to see how the first results turn out. But the plan is to continue and to drive all European races in 2014.”
Bråten, who comes from the town of Hønefoss (65kms northwest of the capital of Oslo; 14,000+ inhabitants) in the county of Buskerud, is a car mechanic by occupation. As for his beloved hobby he is a driver who comes straight from the Norwegian National Rallycross scene, where he drove a Volvo S40 Mk1 and a Ford Fiesta Mk7 over the last couple of years. His current good looking and well maintained Fiesta has been built by undisputed Swedish Rallycross specialist Ingvar Gunnarsson Motorsport AB and is converted to rear-wheel drive for TouringCar use.
