SRC: Holten with Granberg aid

Category: Miscellaneous, News Posted 06.02.14 06:00 by

Norwegian Rallycross talent Daniel Holten has found in Granberg AS the main sponsor for his 2014 ‘RallyX SuperCar Scandinavia’ attempt.

Norwegian company Granberg AS of Bjoa is Daniel Holten’s main sponsor for his 2014 Rallycross programme with Swedish OlsbergsMSE. The 22-year-old was recently announced by the OMSE team as their SuperCar driver in the coming all-new Swedish Rallycross Championship, to be run by the STCC organisation alongside the Swedish Touring Car Championship. Holten’s agreement was fixed only the night before OMSE revealed its 2014 driver line-up at its headquarter in Nynäshamn near Stockholm.

“I’ve got so far now, and just to be part of this OMSE programme in Sweden was really an experience for me. I hope this was just an awesome start to what will become a good season for me,” said Daniel Holten today. Now he is back in his hometown of Vikedal, after a trip to Bjoa (halfway between Stavanger and Bergen), where he met Ole M. Granberg, CEO of his main sponsor Granberg AS.

“My car is now in the preparation process in Sweden, and I’m going to test it and do the necessary fine-tuning in due time before the second weekend of May, when the championship is going to start. After the race at Ring Knutstorp I return home, while others take care of the car preparation for the next race to follow. This scheme will be something completely new for me. I’m doing Rallycross for five years now, and we often said that our sport is 90 percent of screwing and just 10 percent of driving. But all will be really different from now on,” claims Holten in joyful anticipation.

Ole M. Granberg, General Manager of Granberg AS (Norway’s largest supplier of gloves for industrial and health purposes), about the cooperation with Daniel Holten: “Rallycross is now the fastest growing motorsport in the world and Daniel has a lot of talent and great potential. To back him will be good for our business, seen that the sport is going to have wide coverage on the Swedish national television as well as in the newspapers. I’m looking forward to a long-term cooperation with Daniel Holten, and we are very proud to be part of this promising project.”
