ERX: O’Donovan commits to 2016

Category: ERX, News Posted 24.02.16 14:16 by

The Irishman Ollie O’Donovan has this morning confirmed a full FIA European Rallycross Championship campaign, returning with a Ford Fiesta Supercar.

The London-based Irish driver, who debuted his Fiesta Supercar during his 2015 Euro RX campaign opener in Mettet, Belgium – has confirmed the news via the FIA World Rallycross Championship site: fiaworldrallycross.com

The former British Rallycross champion raced a full European season last year finishing in a respectable 8th position, making finals in Norway and Sweden.

Speaking to fiaworldrallycross.com, O’Donovan spoke of his ambitions for the season, and how he has a podium finish in his sights:

“Last year was very much a learning year in Europe for us. The tracks were new, the car was new to us and I haven’t spent that much time in a car for a few years. We want to improve this season, but I know the competition is going to be even harder than it was last year.”

“To get into the finals is the goal again, and I’d really like to be on the podium at a European event this season.”

O’Donovan will return in May for round one of the European Championship which is to be held at the Circuit Jules Tacheny in Mettet, Belgium.
