Patrick Van Mechelen will drive his Subaru Impreza this weekend in the second ERC race at Dreux in France.
Like in the previous ERC race in Lydden Hill his personal goal is driving in a final. Patrick is aware that this will be even more difficult than in Lydden Hill, where he eventually reached the C final. Patrick Van Mechelen: “At Lydden Hill there were 24 participants at the start, in Dreux there will be 32 SuperCar drivers, including many French drivers hunting for points counting for their strong French championship [the French ERC event counts also as a round for the French Rallycross Championship]. There are only 20 places in the finals, so it will be tough fights. A minor advantage is that many of the European participants will drive like me for the first time in Dreux,” claims the Belgian Subaru campaigner. On Saturday evening Rallycross enthusiasts can already read about the practice and the first heat on the team’s website.
