Mats Lysen on top of SuperCars again in Hungary. Linnemann best in Super1600s. Robin Larsson fastest in TouringCars.
The second free practice session is now over. Mats Lysen was once again fastest in the SuperCars, and was happy with his start to the weekend. “Yer, things are going well so far, and the track is very good. We hope to continue like this throughout, after a bad run last weekend this is so far so good,” commented Mats. Hansen Motorsport driver Alexander Hvaal was second fastest, his Russian teammate Timerzyanov third. Liam Doran was fourth fastest, although he finished extremely close behind Timerzyanov. Davy Jeanney and ‘Mr Maximum Attack’ Guttorm Lindefjell fifth and sixth respectively. Kevin Procter was a non-starter, the team has confirmed that the car has oil pump failure and this may well end his weekend.
Ulrik Linnemann remained fastest in Super1600s. Although the Dane was only marginally quicker than Andreas Bakkerud who now looks comfortable on track. Hungarian local “Luigi” [aka Gyula Lajos] was third fastest. All cars are noticeably quicker compared to first free practice.
Robin Larsson was classified as quickest in the TouringCars, quicker than Derek Tohill (2nd) and Roman Častoral (3rd).
Official Timed Practice is set to begin. Stakes are now raised and the road to Heat 1 has begun.
