DRX: Schomaker in Schlüchtern

Category: Miscellaneous, News Posted 11.10.12 11:25 by

The penultimate round of the German Rallycross Championship (DRX) at the Ewald-Pauli-Ring in Schlüchtern was claimed by Bernd Schomaker in SuperCars and Swede Mikael Eriksson in SuperNationals.

German Rallycross Championship rounds are not rarely a rather poor affair. As soon as an event does not take place at the Estering in Buxtehude one can find decent entry lists for the other venues of the series, but entry lists are not starting lists, however. When the racing weekend comes one can notice that the number of contenders has considerably dropped. While for the September round at Maasmechelen all SuperCar and TouringCar entries had been cancelled, prior to Schlüchtern the Super1600 category started to dry out from five entries to just a single starter. And currently the organiser of the DRX final round at the new venue ‘Drivingcenter Groß Dölln’ is losing his enthusiasm about Rallycross, seen that just 29 drivers have announced to take part in his event on October 20 and 21 yet… Quo vadis, DRX?
