Fabien Pailler claimed the 11th and final round of the French Rallycross Championship at the Circuit des Ducs in Essay from Jérôme Grosset-Janin and 2012 FRC winner Gaëtan Sérazin.
At the Normandy village of Essay near Alençon the currently in Germany living Fabien Pailler (Peugeot 207) underlined his all-year good form by setting the fastest SuperCars times in both the first two qualifying heats to ensure himself the pole position for the last A final of the 2012 ERC season. French Rallycross Champion of 2011 Samuel Peu won the third qualification runs to place his Peugeot 207 alongside Pailler in the first row of the A starting grid. The third driver who qualified for the front row was Renault Clio Mk3 campaigner Jérôme Grosset-Janin. After the start of the final Pailler took the lead to control the hard chasing pack. Although Grosset-Janin put the Breton under pressure the son of 1993 European champion Jean-Luc Pailler did not fail and eventually scored the 100th victory for the family company Pailler Compétition. When the last chequered flag of the year was dropped the trio Pailler, Grosset-Janin and the 2012 French SuperCars champion Gaëtan Sérazin (Peugeot 207) had conquered the rostrum of the Circuit des Ducs, while Samuel Peu and Christophe Wilt (Citroën C4) claimed fourth and fifth place respectively.
In Super1600s 2012 FRC winner Laurent Chartrain drove his Citroën Saxo to yet another victory, thereby underpinning his supremacy over the Lower House of the domestic series. After winning the Dreux Division 3 A final a fortnight earlier Toyota Corolla man Christophe Saunois made also Essay his, however the D3 title had already been bagged by ex-Autocrosser Marc Morize for the fifth consecutive year. In Division 4 David Vincent (Renault Clio Mk3) scored his fourth overall victory of the season to rubber stamp his 2012 title claim. And in the one-make Dacia Logan Cup series that man Ayrton Boris picked the Essay laurels while 2012 Cup winner Fabien Grosset-Janin had chosen to start in the Super1600s class this time, eventually finishing 11th here.
