Finn Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen wins the Final of GRC Round 4 at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway (Loudon, NH) from Swede Patrik Sandell and American Brian Deegan. Tanner Foust, who was leading the main race for nine of the ten laps, throws the victory away under pressure in sight of the chequered flag to finish fourth overall. Young Finn Joni Wiman wins the first ever ‘GRC Lites’ event from the two Swedes Sebastian Eriksson and Kevin Eriksson.

Andreas “BabyBlue” Bakkerud won Round 6 of the FIA European Rallycross Championship in front of a record crowd of almost 30,000 spectators in the small 150 inhabitants village of Höljes in Sweden’s so-called Finnwoods.

The Final of the Swedish RallycrossRX round at Höljes was won by Andreas Bakkerud from Mattias Ekström and Timmy Hansen. Fourth place went to Henning Solberg and fifth to Daniel Holten. Petter Solberg retired from second place with an exploded gearbox after just two laps to become sixth overall.

In Race 5 of Heat 4 Swede Johan Kristoffersson cracked the new track record of his compatriot Mattias Ekström, set by the Audi DTM star in Heat 3 today. But Ekström fought back in Race 7 and bettered Kristoffersson’s time again. The new track record of the Höljesbanan stands at 3:02.703 minutes for 4 laps now.

The fastest three drivers of the 60 minutes long Sunday morning warm-up session are Johan Kristoffersson, Mattias Ekström and Timmy Hansen. Petter Solberg, whose team changed the engine of his Citroën DS3 last night, had another powerhouse troubles.

While both Norwegians Petter Solberg and Tommy Rustad each claimed a fastest time in the qualifying runs it is Frenchman Davy Jeanney who tops the following order after Day 1 at Höljes in Sweden.

Tommy Rustad strikes back! After being a poor 29th in Heat 1 the Norwegian in the ex-Ludvig Hunsbedt Volvo C30/4 SuperCar with 3:06.742m set the fastest time in Heat 2. Second fastest was his compatriot Andreas Bakkerud, third fastest Frenchman Davy Jeanney. The latter is leading the point standings after Day 1, followed up by Bakkerud in second and Petter Solberg in third place.
