Hungary day two

Category: ERC, June, News Posted 03.06.12 08:02 by

The last day here in Nyirád, Hungary will reveal the round four winners. Busy schedule today begins in 30 minutes, and the second heat (first heat of today) starting at 9.30.

Many teams were forced to ‘burn the midnight oil’ last night, the tough circuit here and any damages caused at the previous round just a week ago, may have taken their toll.

Mats Lysen’s car has successfully made it through the night and will drive today after an engine fire yesterday during heat one. The car has just passed its scrutineering test, and a delightend Mats Lysen looked to have regained his confidence.

Davy Jeanney also suffered problems during yesterday’s first heat. The Frenchman reported front brake problems yesterday evening, and will look to challenge competitively now the problem has been resolved by his team.

American Tanner Foust was happy with the progress his team made last night, successfully replacing an entire gearbox, after he reported that there were some issues when changing gear yesterday.

Conditions at present are dry and warm, with stands and the paddock building up with eagerly awaiting spectators. Despite the prospect of two heats and finals, organisers here were not content with the amount of action at the event. As a result there will be an air display at 14.30h by Guinness World Record holder, aviator Zoltán Veres.
