The original plan was that Sverre Isachsen would be driving his brand-new Subaru Imprezza GR SuperCar in the final GRC round in Las Vegas, but the team has chosen to use the old car instead. “We want to test the new car sufficently before we start competing with it, so it will not happen before next year. We’ve already had some good test days, but we will develop the car even more over the winter. Therefore, we race the older car here in Las Vegas, but I think it should be possible to win with it too,” said the hattrick European Rallycross Champion prior to the event. (EL)

After having participated in just three of the eight 2013 Global RallyCross Championship rounds so far Brazilian ex-F1 and current NASCAR driver Nelson Piquet Jr. will be back in action at Las Vegas this Wednesday and Thursday. Therefore his Mitsubishi Lancer E10 has been heavily revised and will be at least 80bhp stronger than before. “The engine was completely dismantled and has been equipped with a new bigger turbocharger. With the other transformations of the car this should be sufficient to achieve better results now,” said a spokesman of the team to the Brazilian press. (EL)

Dave Mirra will be driving the MINI RX in Thursday’s final round of the Global RallyCross Championship in Las Vegas. Mirra drove the MINI for the first time at Charlotte in the previous GRC round and was very fast, but ultimately very unlucky not to reach the final. Hopefully he can go all the way this time.
