Norwegian Alexander Hvaal today to his local press: “Just to get to the start of the World Rallycross Championship series of next year I need more than half a Million Euros, but it is hard to get sponsors who are willing to invest in motorsport. Currently I am far behind where I hoped to be, considering the results I had at the end of this season. Right now it feels like I need a few miracles to get up the WRXC stage.” (EL)

Norwegian racing all-rounder Tommy Rustad has revealed his plans to participate in a minimum of six but in as many as possible of the 2014 RallycrossRX rounds.

Today it has been revealed that Norwegian Tommy Rustad is set to drive the ex-Ludvig Hunsbedt Volvo C30/4 SuperCar in a minimum of six and as many as possible RallycrossRX rounds of 2014. (EL)

Timmy Hansen (21) has been awarded ‘Rallycross Driver of the Year 2013’ by the Swedish magazine BILSPORT. “I’m very happy and grateful for the recognition,” Hansen says. “It has been an amazing year. RallycrossRX is a challenge in so many levels and I have been able to race some of the best drivers in the World. The BILSPORT award is the most prestigeous award in Swedish motorsport and, therefore, it is an honour to be elected.” While Timmy Hansen was elected as senior-Rallycrosser it was 2013 ERC TouringCar runner-up Robin Larsson (21) who was declared to be ‘Junior Rallycross Driver of the Year’. Congratulations from the crew of ERC24 to both!

It has been confirmed by the Ministry of Russian Emergencies that Irek Minnikhanov, son of Tatarstan President and former ERC competitor Rustam Minnikhanov, was among the passengers killed in yesterday’s Kazan plane crash. The 24-year-old had married a French woman just three months ago. ERC24 would like to express our deepest sympathy with the family and friends. (EL)

According to the US website RALLYCROSS360 American skateboard legend Danny Way is keen to join the 2014 Global RallyCross series in a second Prodrive MINI SuperCar, presumably alongside his compatriot Dave Mirra. Way did some test driving with a Prodrive MINI early this year and was expected to show up in the 2013 GRC already. (EL)

Shortly after the Global RallyCross announcement that Red Bull would become their title sponsor from 2014 on American Superstar Travis Pastrana revealed to leave NASCAR, but did not mention another GRC commitment.
