Belgian Patrick Van Mechelen has won the SuperCars class of Round 5 of the Rallycross Challenge Europe (RCE) series at Valkenswaard in Holland today. Czech Pavel Koutný finished as runner-up, Dutchman Marcel Ottink made it to the chequered flag in third place. Finn Toomas “Topi” Heikkinen claims his fifth Global RallyCross Championship round victory in a row at the Atlanta Motor Speedway in Georgia. American Tanner Foust made it to runner-up, while Norwegian Sverre Isachsen took the third place.

News from France tells that Jean-Philippe Dayraut, the multiple Andros Trophy ice-racing champion and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb competitor, is set to return to the FIA European Rallycross Championship. Like in 2009 Dayraut is said to drive a Peugeot 207 SuperCar at Lohéac on August 31 and September 1.

Henning Solberg is set to replace Bryce Menzies in the second Dodge Dart SuperCar (#99) the coming weekend for the GRC round at Atlanta Motor Speedway in Georgia, while Timur Timerzyanov is once again replacing Travis Pastrana.
