2003 World Rally Champion Petter Solberg has startet his motorsport career in both, Bilcross and Rallycross. Now, after the Norwegian has pulled the plug on World Rallying, our prodigal son is back to be part of the Rallycross action again.

Petter Solberg today confirmed that he is set for a full 2013 FIA European Rallycross Championship campaign: “I never do anything only halfway. European Rallycross is my way now. It will be a real show this season, and I want me and my team to be part of it.”

Scotland based Englishman Andy Scott is going to tackle the 2013 FIA/IMG ERX with an almost 600bhp strong Peugeot 208 SuperCar produced by Albatec Racing in cooperation with MTechnologies, Oreca and Sadev.

2012 NEZ runner-up of the 1600cc class, Lithuanian Ernestas Staponkus, is set for a full 2013 FIA/IMG ERX series in Super1600s. His ex-Eduard Leganov VW Polo Mk4/9N3 is currently been overhauled in the Czech Republic. After Martynas Padgurskis, the 2007 ERC bronce medal winner of Division 2, Staponkas could be the second Lithuanian to do a full European programme attempt.

The British Prodrive company [MINI] is watching the booming Rallycross scene with lots of interest. Richard Taylor of Prodrive: “We have a closer look on Rallycross. That would be an interesting field. We have a look on different projects to which we could supply our technical experience.”

American Danny Way, claimed of being “the greatest skateboarder of all time”, on Instagram after his test drives with a Prodrive MINI: “Had so much fun driving this Prodrive WRC MINI today and look forward to being a part of the introduction of this team/car to the GRC and X Games events!”
