JRX debut looms

Category: ERC, June, Shortcuts Posted 29.06.12 20:30 by

After the initial JRX Cup debut was delayed last weekend in Norway, the Junior Cup is ready for its first outing in Sweden.

MAKS Events, the series owners/promoters, were not able to resolve component supply problems prior to the Norwegian ERC event, resulting in the fact that the cars shipped to Hell, Norway were incomplete. Organisers MAKS Events consequently vowed to debut the ‘Junior Rallycross Championship’ at this weekend’s Swedish ERC round, and sights of the uniquely built cars recording their first laps of free practice today at the Höljesbanan confirmed the organiser’s pledge.

Conditions out on track were far from ideal for the young competitors, with torrential rain flooding various portions of the track. Nevertheless, youngsters were granted their first competitve laps at the legendary Höljes circuit.

“First practice today in Höljes in very wet conditions was crazy, but it is great to finally get in the car and put in some laps,” confirmed youngster Kevin Hansen.
