French 2010 Rallycross champion and 2012 European SuperCar title contender is forced to pull out early of the coverted Swedish ERC event due to detrimental damage to his Citroën.
Davy Jeanney entered the sixth round of the ERC running on his spare engine. The Frenchman returned this weekend with high hopes of gaining a solid result in Sweden after a tough and challenging weekend in Norway.
Jeanney exited the second free practice session earlier this afternoon with plumes of smoke flooding out of the rear of his Citroën C4 SuperCar. Upon arrival back to the paddock things did not look positive. A leaking radiator and a blown head gasket had members of the Jeanney team shaking their heads, with Jeanney turning away from the car fearing the worst.
Jeanney’s worst fears were confirmed: “This is the end of my racing this weekend, we do not have the parts to get the car back on the track,” translated a mechanic.
