A second day of action is upon us. The Super1600 class kicked off this mornings’ second round of qualifying heats.
Once again Timerzyanov produced a flawless display in the last race of heat two. The Russian beat Tanner Foust and Davy Jeanney to the top spot. ‘Stecka’ Walfridsson instead made a break into the top five with a rapid fourth fastest time. Liam Doran finished fifth fastest. Home driver Michael de Keersmaecker finished sixth. Belgian Rally underdog Francois Duval DNF.
Timerzyanov: “We are for sure in good position now. Now the job is to make sure everything is perfect for the third heat and finals, and make sure we have the best line into the first corner.” Said Timerzyanov.
Despite his unique dominance yesterday – the young Set Promotion driver Joni Wiman was unable to hold on to his top spot. Wiman finishes third behind Skorupski and heat one winner Andreas Bakkerud.
Robin Larsson won the second heat of the TouringCars. Roman Castoral proved yesterday that his car can still deliver good times. A mistake nearing his final lap destroyed his chances of a top five finish. Young Swede Anton Marklund recorded a second fastest time and Koen Pauwels third.
