Oscar Solberg, the 16 years old son of Henning Solberg, is set to drive a JRX vehicle in the final round of the FIA European Rallycross Championship at Buxtehude the coming weekend. It is going to be the same ‘Veidec Racing by US Capital’ sponsored car that Norwegian girl Ada Marie Hvaal used in Hell and Höljes. Solberg Jr. has successfully driven Crosskart and Folkrace/Bilcross events so far.

Irishman Derek Tohill, who won the European Rallycross titles of D2 in 2010 and last weekend at Greinbach in TouringCars, has announced his plans to move up into the SuperCars category. The Dubliner is keen to participate in a possible World Rallycross Championship, but has not yet revealed with what own car or if he is going to join another existing team.

RX: Alex Hvaal grabs his first

After Petter Solberg stalled his Citroën DS3 at the starting grid of the Final and Liam Doran had to retire with his burning DS3 it was Alexander Hvaal who grabbed his first ever ERC round victory in SuperCars.

Norwegian Alexander Hvaal claimed the SuperCars overall victory of the Austrian RallycrossRX round at Greinbach, after his compatriot Petter Solberg stalled his car at the starting grid and the car of the Final leading Briton Liam Doran caught fire. In Super1600s both the event victory and championship title fell prey to Latvian Reinis Nitišs, while in TouringCars Irishman Derek Tohill also bagged the race as well as the championship win.

After qualification has come to end Briton Liam Doran (in SuperCars), Latvian Reinis Nitišs (in Super1600s) and Irishman Derek Tohill (in TouringCars) are ahead of the Intermediate Classifications in Austria.

After Day 1 and setting twice a third fastest time Liam Doran is leading the overnight standings with 6 points, ahead of Timur Timerzyanov and Anton Marklund who tie with 8 points each.

After the first two qualifying heats at Greinbach Liam Doran is leading Saturday’s intermediate standings with 6 points, followed by Timur Timerzyanov and Anton Marklund, both having 8 points each. Reinis Nitišs is ahead in Super1600s, Derek Tohill tops the TouringCars following order.
