Hell in Norway is hosting the 400th ERC round in history. Day 1 was clearly dominated by homeboy Petter Solberg who set the fastest times in practice as well as in both, the first and the second qualifying heats.

The Saturday in Hell was clearly dominated by home soil defender Petter Solberg who set the fastest times in practice as well as in both, the first and the second qualifying heats. Second position in the overnight standings has been claimed by his compatriot Andreas Bakkerud, while reigning European champion Timur Timerzyanov from Russia is currently third.

This weekend’s European Rallycross Championship round at Hell in Norway marks the 400th ERC round in motorsports history. Scotsman John Taylor won the first ever ERC round, on May 13 1973 at Melk in Austria, as well as the inaugural ERC series with a 170+bhp strong BDA engine in his Ford Escort (Mk1) RS1600.

It could or should have been the day of Petter Solberg, but while leading the all decisive Final by almost 4 seconds the car of “Hollywood” broke after a jump and the Kouvola victory fell prey to Tanner Foust.

American Tanner Foust wins the Finnish FIA European Rallycross Championship round at Kouvola after Petter Solberg, who was leading the all decisive Final with at least 5 seconds by then, broke the steering of his 560+bhp Citroën DS3 SuperCar during a hard jump landing. Russian Timur Timerzyanov made it to runner-up while his Swedish teammate Timmy Hansen claimed third place. Latvian Reinis Nitišs made victory in Super1600s his, Czech Roman Častoral won in TouringCars.
