Morgan Östlund of Finnskoga MK to the Swedish press: “This year there will be as many as 35 SuperCar drivers at Höljes with a chance to win our event. With Johan Kristoffersson and Pontus Tidemand we have chosen for the two most promising drivers of our own Värmland home region to participate. We even try to get the Americans Ken Block and Tanner Foust to come and race here. We hope to break a new record [current record: 2010 = 26,850 people] and should have at least 30,000 spectators this time.”

During today’s press conference by Volkswagen Sweden in Stockholm it was officially released what ERC24 has hinted for some time: Circuit racer Johan Kristoffersson and rising Rally star Pontus Tidemand are set to attack their native RallycrossRX round at Höljes with two VW Scirocco Mk3 SuperCars.

What has been in the rumours for several months already, but strictly denied by his team, is nothing but the truth: Latest info proves that M-Sport has built a Ford Fiesta Mk7 SuperCar for American ‘Hoonigan in Chief’ Ken Block. Block, who is currently for test drives in the United Kingdom, is said to unveil the new car for Global RallyCross use tomorrow in London. Block on Instagram: “I’m here [with M-Sport] to finalize a project that we’ve been working on for the last five months. Yup, my team and I have been working on a new racecar with the Ford World Rally Car manufacturer – kinda wild!”

Circuit racer Johan Kristoffersson, son of Rallycross legend Tommy Kristoffersson, and Rally rising star Pontus Tidemand, son of former Rallycrosser Tomas Tidemand and stepson of Henning Solberg, will be seen in this year’s Swedish ERX round at the Höljesbanan in a two-car VW Scirocco Mk3 team. Johan is going to drive the KMS SuperCar while Pontus will compete in the from Belgian Jochen Coox rented Scirocco. The one-off ‘RallycrossRX’ guest drive is fully backed by VW Sweden and its Volkswagen Dealer Team.
